The Civic Center Music Hall invested in improvements for patrons with hearing aids with the installation of a new hearing loop system in the Thelma Gaylord Performing Arts Theatre.
Patrons with a hearing aid or cochlear implant are able to use the telecoil in their hearing device to pick up sound from the new loop system installed in the floor.
Patrons using hearing devices no longer need to check out a neck loop before the performance, as they did with the previous system.
“Our new hearing loop system welcomes people with hearing aids and cochlear implants back to the Civic Center,” said Interim Civic Center Manager John Siska. “People who use a hearing device can now hear performance as well as, if not better than, the person seated next to them, with no additional equipment. The Civic Center is committed to improving the experience for all patrons.”
Consult your audiologist for information about activating telecoil mode in a hearing aid or cochlear implant. Many people with hearing aids have a telecoil and don’t know it, and it’s often activated with a switch.
The hearing loop is a copper wire in the floor that serves all 2,477 seats in the Gaylord Theatre – the Civic Center’s main performance space – plus the concession stand and box office.
The copper wire and telecoil work together to connect the hearing device to the theater’s sound system using a magnetic field. It dramatically improves sound clarity for patrons using hearing aids.

MGP Live Announces Worldwide 2017 Tour Dates for The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses 2017
May 9, 2017
NEW YORK CITY – March 6, 2017 – MGP Live today announces 2017 tour dates for The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses in North America and Europe. Upcoming shows will feature a new piece from the newly released Breath of the Wild, an all new movement from Skyward Sword, an updated overture, and the return of a classic piece that might just make some wishes come true!
Celebrating 30 years of stirring virtual adventure and memorable soundtracks with live orchestral renditions directly approved by franchise producer Eiji Aonuma, The Symphony of the Goddesses is now in its fourth season. The two-hour concert comes to life with a 57-piece orchestra, 20-person choir, and a reimagined score that draws from recent and requested Zelda games, including A Link Between Worlds, Twilight Princess, and the remake of Majora’s Mask, while still paying homage to such classics as Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. The concert’s five-movement symphony regales ears with Nintendo composer Koji Kondo’s original music, recalling moments of Link conquering dungeons, running through forests, and struggling to decide what color tunic to wear. Throughout the evening, a video collage syncs up with the adventurous tunes to spotlight exciting moments from the venerable franchise.

Some of our artists include Academy Award and Grammy winning composer Ennio Morricone, Frank Sinatra, Joe Cocker, Patti Labelle, Ray Charles, Roberto Benigni, Pino Daniele and more.
In 2006, Massimo Gallotta created MGP Live in NYC to promote Italian culture and music internationally.
