For 40 years Penn & teller have defied labels-and at times physics and good taste -- by redefining the genre of magic and inventing their own very distinct niche in comedy.

With sold out runs on Broadway, world tours, Emmy-winning TV specials, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and hundreds of outrageous appearances on everything from Fallon to Friends, The Simpsons to Colbert, Modern Family to Top Chef, comedy's most enduring team show no signs of slowing down.

With an amazing eight wins, including 2015, as "Las Vegas Magicians of the Year," their 15-year run at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino makes them the longest running and one of the most-beloved headline acts in Las Vegas history, outselling every other resident magician on The Strip.

Their acclaimed Showtime series, Penn & Teller: BS! was nominated for 13 Emmys and is the longest-running series in the history of the network. The show tackled the fakes and frauds behind such topics as alien abduction, psychics and bottled water.

Currently they host the hit series Penn & Teller: Fool Us! for the CW Network, on which up-and-comers and magic veterans try to fool Penn & Teller for a chance to star in the duo's hit Las Vegas stage show.

Along the way, they've written New York Times Best-Sellers, hosted their own Emmy nominated variety show for FX, starred in their own specials for ABC, NBC and Comedy Central and produced the critically lauded feature film documentary The Aristocrats. Their acclaimed documentary, Tim's Vermeers, follows Texas-based inventor Tim Jenison on his quest to discover the methods used by Dutch Master Painter Johannes Vermeer. The Sony Pictures Classics film was nominated for a BAFTA and shortlisted for the 2014 Oscars.

Penn & Teller triumphantly returned to Broadway this past summer in a smash six-week long engagement that USA Today called, "Deliciously unsettling." It was the highest-grossing non-musical on Broadway for its entire run.

Saturday, November 19, 2016 - 7:30pm

Performing his greatest hits on tour, Alan Parsons amazes audiences worldwide with his contributions to engineering and performing. He had dabbled with live performance in his late teens as a folk/blues acoustic player and as a lead guitarist with a blues band in the late sixties in his hometown of London. But as soon as he landed a job at the famous Abbey Road Studios at the age of 19, it became clear that the world of sound recording was to dominate his career. He was fortunate enough to work as assistant engineer on the last two albums by The Beatles and after he qualified as a fully-fledged recording engineer, he went on to work with Paul McCartney, and most notably Pink Floyd's classic Dark Side of the Moon.

When Alan was asked what his fans can expect from his new live show, he said "We've established the Live Project to perform The Alan Parsons Project hits and we don't disappoint. We don't go ‘eclectic’ with the set lists — I walked out of a Steely Dan concert [recently] for that reason, because it was so self-indulgent! The show is fun, liberating, and it's great to hear audience reaction. The fans will hear all the songs they know we have to play in the spectacular fashion they deserve!”

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

Give a listen to “Old Photographs,” the closing track on Tommy Emmanuel’s It’s Never Too Late, and you’ll hear the distinctive squeak of finger noise as he runs his hands across the frets of his Maton Signature TE guitar. Many musicians would edit those imperfections out, but to Emmanuel, those imperfections are perfect.

A master technician, Emmanuel started professionally at age 6, rising through the ranks as a studio player and member of several Australian rock bands before he set off on a solo career. One of only five musicians handpicked by his mentor, Chet Atkins, as a Certified Guitar Player (CGP), he’s piled up numerous accolades, including two Grammy nominations, two ARIA Awards from the Australian Recording Industry Association (the Aussie equivalent of the Recording Academy) and repeated honors in the Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll.

A noted fingerstyle guitarist, Emmanuel frequently threads three different parts simultaneously into his material, operating as a one-man band who handles the melody, the supporting chords and the bass all at once. His talents, which translate in any language, carry him to the far corners of the globe, but Emmanuel never plays the same show twice, and he improvises big chunks of every date. That leaves him open to those technical imperfections, though they also provide some of the humanity to an other-worldly talent.

“It’s all about the feeling of the music,” Emmanuel says. “And it has to make me feel something. I’m still playing for myself, you know, because I figure if I please me, then I’m pretty sure I’m gonna please you. And that’s not an arrogant statement, it’s just quality control.”
